Spent the day doing almost senseless stuff.
Like, you update a groovy script that generates jenkins configs xmls, updating the version of the build of a job. More, updating it for staging is ok, but if you update it for prod (what I wanted to do), jenkins fails in that build, saying that it can't find some unrelated dependencies. So, still investigating this shit.
Also, got on Chris' nerves regarding a piece of code that, depending on whether some value is defined, calls a map method or a flatMap method of some value, whose type I could not figure out, because intellij can't "import the project", throwing an exception. Chris, after attempting to convince me that the code is okay (which I may agree, but there are no tests), eventually told me the types of a couple of variables. Meanwhile I fixed the build, by specifying the JDK version, and it stopped crashing, and I could add values types.
The code sucks, so I decided to clean it up. It also turns out it uses ScalaZ, and it uses Cody Allen's library for god knows what. Also, friended with Cody on linkedin. I would not say we had good relations with Cody when we worked together at Salesforce; he's a Scala Cats guy, so we are from different camps. I might have unfriende him because of Jon Pretty affair. But Jon is in the past; he's probably got into religion now.
Anyway, and there was a "standup", then a "team sync", all rather senseless. Then Qian gave us a talk about Oauth 2.0, where, it seems, all the terminology has changed compared to Oauth 1.0, if I'm not mistaken. Qian explained it all perfectly, in spite of his heavy accent.
Then there was a "roles and responsibilities" meething, with a big boss, who seems to plan to unite our team with our pardners.
This was the first time in America that I heard good words about myself. Never, since 1998, I heard even one nice word about me. I thought it's just American culture. And this is the first East-coast company that I work at. Now I'm more and more negative about California, Bay Area, West Coast. As Samantha from Google told me once, "it's jungle out there". I did not know it. Was I a masochist? Or just a naive sucker?

Anyway, проехали. I worked on. Just a small code cleanup, after all that ancient shit like val legacyTransactorTask: Task[HikariTransactor[Task]] = transactorFor(primaryConfig) - that's after I extracted this variable and added the type.
