They just called regarding my expired membership. So I had the opportunity to express my indignation regarding their rip-off practice with their so-called digital library, the informational cemetery.

how adorable. what's the annual acm membership fee, $100? they really should try harder for that amount of money.

Their fee consists of 2 things : ACM membership & library access.
Someone might not be exactly interested in first, but you can't get the second without.
And it really feels like a scam :(

Это субъективный вопрос. Я просто довольно много статей читаю и нередко они доступны именно через ACM подписку. В последнее время, правда, гораздо больше статей я нахожу в других местах.
