Так что, таки да, дорого. Но далее:

"However, using nuclear electricity for desalination can achieve exceptional economies of scale."

Что, меньше энергии стало нужно? Нет, просто ядерная энергетика значительно дешевле, плюс какая-то доля пресной воды производится как часть технологического процесса, а потому уже даже включена в стоимость продаваемого электричества.
