Excellent write-up! I'll need to brush up on some of the methods you use there.
In one of the articles you mentioned
https://data.giss.nasa.gov/tmp/gistemp/STATIONS/tmp_425003913920_14_0/station.txt
- perfect example of the other measurement issue. Out of 122 years on the record, 34 years have missing data, and of those 19 years still have some numbers "filled in".
I mean, it's ok for a PhD on model fitting, but maybe better scrutiny is needed when making policy decisions.
But of course your argument is very original. Thanks for bringing it up.
