Schroedinger, Heisenberg, Bug

from here

A heisenbug (named after the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle)is a computer bug that disappears or alters its characteristics when an attempt is made to study it.

A schroedinbug is a bug that manifests only after someone reading source code or using the program in an unusual way notices that it never should have worked in the first place, at which point the program promptly stops working for everybody until fixed.

A Bohr bug or bohrbug (named after the Bohr atom model) is a bug that manifests itself consistently under a well-defined (but possibly unknown) set of conditions.

A mandelbug (named after fractal innovator Benoît Mandelbrot) is a computer bug whose causes are so complex that its behavior appears chaotic.

I'd say PEBKAC quite often is a Mendelbug.

Let's add.

Fermi-Dirac bugs: actively counteract each other and thus never appear all at once even if conditions are favorable for each. (Bose-Einstein bugs are the "normal" bugs.)

Einstein (Lorenz, relativist) bug: only manifests itself when code runs fast enough (race conditions, etc), cannot be seen stepping through in a debugger or even on a highly multitasked system.

Pauli bug: only happens on demonstrations (especially for high bosses or customers) and never happens under "normal conditions", let alone unit tests.

Einstein ones are probably a subclass of Heisenbugs (or at least these classes have a non-empty intersection).

Hadron bugs: their existence could only be proven by observing strong dependencies between otherwise decoupled components of a program. An attempt to fix a hadron bug most likely will only cause the whole process collapsing into a black hole.

how do you call the bug that only exists in the release build? (debug build works perfectly)

It is quite possible to apply formal methods
without all difficult and unpleasant effects! ;-)
(I do not mean holy physics)

Mandelbug - это мандавошка, чтоли?
