order and enumerability
May. 17th, 2009 09:44 amLook at this discussion regarding scala. People are sure that if you can enumerate something, it means it is an order on that something; and since "order does not make sense for sets", it is some kind of wrong idea.
That's kind of funny; that's the same as saying that the Axiom of Choice does not make sense for sets.
I think a programmer should know the difference between order and enumeration. But somehow they are always mixed in programmers heads.
