Ron Owens today on 810am was talking about schools funding; it was mentioned that while UC Berkeley is increasing tuition 40%, and cutting financing on various educational programs, the football team funding remains intact, and brings $10M deficit each year. Everybody is kind of pissed off, but Ron Owens, a smooth-talking, nice, intelligent, mildly liberally "thinking" idiot, explained it that a good football team is why smart students go to study at Berkeley.
Amazing.
His interviewee explained that it is quite opposite. Everybody is still pissed off, and nobody decent would go to Berkeley just because they have a good football team. Berkeley is not that kind of University.
Okay, so California is increasing football ratio in its education spending.
My suggestion is to close all this. Close the football team. Fire the coach. Kick him out. Kick out all those "students" that are actually just football players. Start learning something useful.
Another thing. For every $1 spent by California on education, $55 is spent on prisons.
Nice. Here we go. And we even do not have a 1-to-55 ratio of Chinese vs Black population. (That's a racist joke, in case you did not notice. Too much listening to Canadian Laugh Attack radio on my XM.)
My suggestion is this. Outsource our prisons. Don't outsource to evil places, like Russia, Mexico, Guatemala, Columbia, Iraq, Guantanamo. Outsource it to nice people: Czech Republic, Ukraine, Greece, India, South Dakota. It will be way cheaper, compared to living in California; and, since conditions there are still worse, cut the terms, say, 40% for India and 15% for South Dakota. 17% for North Dakota (it is colder there, is not it?).
And now about euthanasia. Not exactly. About legalizing suicide for death row inmates and for those with a sentence of 10+ years or more. What if they don't want to live like this?
See why. Suppose I, like the guy from "Falling Down", generally nice, for some stupid insane reason, killed 3 people after being fired. I feel so guilty, I won't need a lawyer or a day in court. All I need is a will, dividing all I have between the three families, and a suicide pill. Okay, and a bottle of whiskey, to sweeten the pill. Can I have it, please, saving a lot of government money, too? I don't need your fucking mercy, and I do not want to give away most of my money to those fucking lawyers.
And so it goes.
