linux (ubuntu) image snapshot

Is there a tool for backing up a snapshot of a harddrive with all the stuff installed, with the opportunity to reinstall it if something happens? Could find it for virtual machines... is it time now to go all virtual?!

Задержали группу фальшивомонетчиков; заодно нашли у них наркотики.
В Сан Карлосе внезапно помер мэр. В его должность вступил вице-мэр. На следующий вечер новый мэр был арестован за вождение в пьяном виде.
В университете Сан Хосе, в гараже, на днях вечером была стрельба: студентка со студентом (соучеником, якобы никакого секса) сели в машину, как тут вышел из-за угла муж, расстрелял обоих, а потом и сам застрелился. Студентам лет по 26, мужу 56. Горячий филиппинец. Этот гараж какой-то нехороший, несколько лет назад один студент с крыши сиганул. Может, что-то в университете подправить?

Ubuntu is okay, installed java, scala, intellij, git, tomcat, skype;
generated keys for github, but probably something's missing, cannot get r/w access yet;
scraped and painted the lobby (including the ceiling) in my house (that included hanging huge sheets of plastic around the area;
still everything's too slow, and it's already almost 11 (I'll always remember Tango's management that thinks it's normal to work till 11pm every night)
Tried to send an "mms" to Julia; android (sprint) said the mms is too long. When I was in Google, I had Moore's law determining the max size of the image to upload. Guys at sprint are obviously static final.
