Recently a house was sold in our area, 1300 sqft, $1M.
Kind of explains something.
I was thinking, where all those homeless people come from? Turned out, they are not those bums from Nevada, brought here by sheriffs in the buses.
They are local. They are the people that lived here for generations. Now they just can't afford it. They are lost in this growth.
Who took their places? We did. We, the immigrants. The people that came and within 5 years bought a property. While the locals did not. Some locals did; I know a mailman who lived in a garage, but then he bought a house in San Jose; he's selling it now. So some people do. But some don't. And they have no choice, since, well, maybe they have circumstances.

Kind of sucks; but I'm not giving away my home. Just discovered that I'm some kind of like the gringos that came here 170 years ago.
