So, a surprise. I have an FSA, or, rather, I had an FSA with Machinify. My employment was terminated on 7/27. And at the same day my ability to use that account was terminated. I have 300+ bucks on that account. Can't spend it, can't claim it. They'll send the money to Machinify, and Machinify will know better what to do with my pre-tax money.
An interesting system, right? You've been warned. I was clueless.
More, the's an IRS publication that says: in the case of termination, if an employee overspent an FSA, the company cannot attempt to get back the money from the employee.
You've been warned.
