Well, a bit of brain fog, so I even missed the second meeting (and the third did not happen, Victor is too busy).
Agreed to pick up a case, or, rather, an epic, as they say in Jira. It's about changing the way we are handling a stream of updates (they seem to be coming in as a stream, then stored in a db, and only then get visible in the app - wrong!). It was Victor's epic, but he's leaving in February.
The Columbian guy found a bypass for the weird case of Nix not working on his M1. Cool!
We have a new guy, Mahesh. I'll have to check out his resume, it's in Slack.
Also, a bunch of new resumes: former twitter and facebook engineers are flooding us with their applications. Some are pretty cool. One is Russian, from SPb; it took me some effort to block my, you know, attitude, and look at his resume professionally. Looks decent.
By the end of the day I was pretty desperate in my attempts to just build sbt-javagent (I only need its doc jar). Sbt version, JVM version, Scala version, what else? Who knows. I was tweaking the project, no good. So eventually I've cloned it on my own computer - and everything goes fine here. Omfg. So I'll have to find an env var that is wrong. Tomorrow, tomorrow.
Wrote on slack about it, maybe Wilmar knows, or, I don't know, Karen, Victor...
