Again spent too much time working.
The service I'm working on, I'm splitting my pr into smaller chunks; one was approved, merged it, and slapped together the next one. While they are reading it, took another project to use my new service' library.
And kaboom, that new service, it consists of three modules; two of them made it to jfrog, but the one I needed did not. So, what should I do? Spent time investigating wtf is with jfrog. Eventually (also bugged Swathi and Safa) came to a conclusion that it's all in Nix, and Nix config is hiding somewhere but not in github. So, while Karen is not here, nobody knows.
But my approach is simple: this module will be gone by the end of the year, so working on its perfection makes no sense. I'll just copy-paste what I need. Will get rid of Nix later.
So I did, and slapped together the PR and sent it for review.
Then we had three meetings, including a 1-1 with Jacob. Jacob is one of those four decent managers. No, I'd call him a decent human being, first of all. With an adopted child. These people are almost heroes.
Well, our PM is also really good. And smart. And a cyclist. We are now friends on Strava.
Jaob was talking about the importance of OKR for the bonus. I'm not telling him I don't fucking care about bonus, it takes much less time to pay more attention and win this amount on stocks, without risking your integrity.
But anyway. I'm just having fun. That's why I'm still doing something, after 23:00.
