Spent all day struggling with play framework and its configuration.
Not that I've finished it, but there's a progress in configuring the app. Pretty boring, all this; people in typesafe are kind of, a little bit, retards. Or they like the Java DI solutions, and Bob-Kevin shit, Guice. So I have to do my own DI (and there's none actually, it's all a bs, when, instead of instantiating something they want to do "Inject", all the way to the bottom of the dependency graph. Oh, whatever. I can mock and I can DI, without this bs.
Also, early in the morning there as an emergency; Karen was on pager, so she had to wake up before her 6am. What happened. There's a radio station, KFAC or something. It's pronounced s "kay-fack". But Alexa pronounces it as "kfack". That's bad. So Safa updated it, adding a class that contains pronunciations (some), and sending it to Alexa to properly say it. That's it. As a result (of probably something else) some shit started pummeling our servers, and our servers just could not process all they are getting, and we had a stream of exceptions like "server did not respond". There was a lot of chat on this (and who knows, this could have been a DDOS that coincided with this small update, which, btw, was pretty much test-covered.
Life.
No, it was fixed before noon.
That's it for today.
