Started working early today, because I had to go visit my dentist (cleaning) by 11.
Ok, the whole day I was converting a scripting style, POC code that I had slapped together, into something serious, with tests coverage etc.
Also figured that I have to parse HTTP4S DSL, which may be a bit unusual. But whatever. It's a pleasure, writing code.
At 4:30 we had a "standup", and there were just three of us, Bill from Florida, Janet from NC, and me, from SC. So basically we talked about life; showed a video of a turtle swimming in my pool, etc. Bill said that they have 80ºF (26ºC) in the ocean - like my pool today.
Talked about too much traffic on hwy 85. Janet suggested to ban the people to cross state borders for work. Bill said "it's a free country". I said "it's a free country". Then I suggested to declare that going for work to another state is a form of "human trafficking" - to scare all the idiots in this country (there are plenty). Americans pretend to not really know the difference between slave trading and prostitution.
So we had fun, and laughed a lot, and agreed that there must be a team meeting IRL, somewhere in Atlanta, but Bill said that Atlanta is a dangerous place. (Ok, maybe Charleston?)
And then I worked for about an hour and a half more. Because I crave!
