So, part 1 of the day. I have one Jira case, where I have no clue what this or that abbreviation means, and what the uri is supposed to be, and what do you mean by this and by that.
And I asked Brad, where it would be better to ask my questions. And he pointed me to one amazing service that is like a firewall between users and business functionality. That firewall's README is an amazing document. Also pointing to a list of entry points in the system. 2700+ entry points. Not even ordered by applications, just grouped. But it was really very informative.
Then Janet asked, what is the status of that "user role not being passed to the DB". And I pointed to my findings, and Janet said that maybe I'm wrong, because Brad said that it works ok in prod, and that it's just about a long delay in this change propagating to the DB. And I said, ok, probably Brad knows better - but tests are still missing, so it's not verifiable (yet).
Then I turned away from that, and returned to studying this amazing huge firewall.
We were supposed to have a meeting dedicated to that new functionality, but the meeting was moved for later, and later, and eventually to tomorrow. Ok, do I mind?
Then we had a standup. Jeremey showed up and, basically, explained to us that our team is being half-disbanded, half moved to another manager, Rachel. Since we have 4 Rachels in slack, I asked which one, and he said the last name. I looked her up in Linkedin. Here's her path:

Then we talked about Scala being a dying language, the future for the team (half of the team)...
In short, they are not getting rid of me yet, although they probably don't know what to do with me.
Then we talked about monads. People are pretty advanced in this team, actually. Pretty advanced.
As a result, I guess, I won't have much to do the next at least several days, and then we will see.
No, I won't be interested in writing in whatever languages they would offer me, and I may just tell them
I'm too old to learn new languages, unless it's Scala 3, OCaml, Rust... not even Kotlin, no.
Basically, I don't even have to work. I'm using my work to make sure that we don't waste our own money
on air conditioners and cars.
Oh, and sorry, I have an interesting problem I found on Quora. It's a cheap number theory problem, never mind.
