I'm on pager duty today. So? So nothing: nothing happened.
Updated some docs. Wrote a "scaling report". I really have no problem writing reports. Or writing code. What I don't like is wasting time talking to people that use vague words and sentences, so that to get to the point one has to ask them and reask them, but nobody gives you a slot of time.
Today there was a discussion regarding a pretty neat update Esteban wrote, about reinterpreting errors coming from one stupid service. They return us an HTTP-200, with "error message" somewhere at the bottom of otherwise innocent JSON. Esteban translates it all to HTTP-500.
Mike suggested to use HTTP-503, and hide the error explanations. I suggested to log the error explanations. So we agreed.
That was a standup.
Otherwise, I was working a pretty nice "error library" created by some people in our company. By the end of the day a pr was sent.
That's it for today.
