a humble note

I've noticed something that I cannot explain. There are many bright and deep-thinking people working as contractors at random jobs. And there are many mediocre, fast-talking people that are probably unable to write a one-liner Fibonacci numbers generator, who proudly hold positions of tech leads and architects, and who are commonly considered as smart.

International Towel Day

In my home country, especially in rural regions, every male
carries/has a towel with him. Typically it is carried on one's
shoulder. The reason, from what I learnt, is because of the usefulness
of the towel -- including some of the reasons mentioned in the
Hitchhikers Guide. And trust me, none of them would have read the
book. I also learnt that it is a custom followed through generations.
