 Ok, so I'm on pager duty, and also in the process of getting two PRs approved. Qian is good in reviewing, I appreciate his comments even if I kind of disagree. 

Anyway, and there was a failure in prod, the system called me, I opened pd app, followed the runbook, killed one job and restarted it, all by the book. Now the question is, how come we don't have scripts for that? 

Also, investigated, how t.f. can I properly create a new project in Jenkins. It's a mystery. While studying this, discovered tons of petrified Java shit since 2014. The good part is that it still works!

Then I got tired and took a break.

Then Chris was strangely sending me pointers to where else I could find failures. Devops channel in Slack. I don't even understand what is all that. I mean, that AWS management. Besides that it's what our devops are working on. How can I help them? Maybe I should come over to Oregon's Amazon data center and help with some wiring? I've no clue.

BTW, our QA, Priyanka, works from West Africa. Cool!

Then Chris found that I did not read an email from customer support. Just another case of a user whose email address was magically changed to some nonexistent domain. I created a jira spike for that, and asked a question on slack regarding how come we don't log such important actions - or, rather, all incoming requests (like Google does). Wrote that opinions on logging vary (Google has a different opinion). Chris wrote that opinions actually don't vary (his one is correct).

So I thanked him for letting me know that there's only one correct opinion. And separately asked Jacob whether sarcasm is acceptable in our company (it was not in the previous one).

Let's see. 

Stocks are doing good now. Suddenly. Strangely. Almost unexpectedly.But not all. GLD is going down - but that's as expected.

русские, извините, матери

 Тут сегодня на твиттере разразился шухер - один пишет, что он успел смыться, а мать ему не хочет присылать свидетельство о рождении, говорит, приезжай, сходишь в военкомат, тебя по здоровью снимут с учета, и ты делай что хошь, работай, женись (ну типа и будешь под боком все равно).

И вот там понеслось, одни считают эту мамашку большой сволочью, другие сына гадом, мать свою не ценит.

Т.к. для меня эти матери уже, собственно, теоретически могли бы годиться в дочери (спасибо не надо), то у меня никакого такого традиционного для традиционного общества уважения к таким нету, а одно презрение. Тем более что и в реале есть на что позлиться.

Так вот, а еще там же в твиттере пишут, что председательница Совета Солдатских Матерей (в России) удивляется - теперь в этот Совет никто не жалуется. Матери довольны! Довольны русские солдатские матери! 

Ну. Какого сорта эти матери, как вы думаете? Я все на учителей собак вешал. А, похоже, на матерей тоже надо собак вешать. И, разумеется, на отцов. "Не служил - не мужик." Да на хера вообще записываться в мужики? Ну так-то подумать. Это чтобы перед барином на колени становиться? Ну так-то если подумать вообще. Не, я знаю, думать там не положено. Приказа не было.

Одно русофобие, короче, на уме.
