Spent most of the day trying to figure out why t.f. import is not working.
Eventually got totally stuck in the dumbest call stack in Mongo library. Obviously these JavaScript pros are clueless about Scala. I'd say, just idiots. Found the problem eventually - it could have been detected at compile time, and if not, in tests. But now. It only crashes when you deploy it and run. Thank god not in production.
Also, coordinated with Chris the things I was trying to fix (make readable) in his project (written by weird New-Yorkers between 2017 and 2020, when Scala was considered an obscure language, similar to Haskell, that can only be used by the smartest idiots savants.
Imagine a mix of ScalaZ, Cats, and some very custom code written by Cody, a nice but weird guy, working now with Runar. Oh...
I think I made it readable, sent it to Chris, but actually, as Chris wrote to me, refactoring it may make zero sense, because the complexity will go away as soon as transition to the other db is finished.
Well, ok, do I mind? I just sent it to him for discussion, not insisting on anything. I got a feeling I'm his best buddy in the company now.
