Ok, spent most of the day at meetings and trying to figure out how t.f. I can log in to prod db in the oauth service.
Eventually, by the end of the day, found out that the use id should be not
Anyway, I'm thankful to Karen and Swathi for their patience. (Do you notice, I really prefer working with females? They are humans.)
Standup was okay, as usual. Then I interviewed a brilliant guy from LA. Seems like he's a Bengali; it's probably the first time I talked to a Bengali. With a Jewish-looking last name. Talent! Learned a new word, concolic execution. I gave him this funny problem:
He solved it without a second of hesitation. He wrote, in Scala, a solution that does it correctly. Within about 20 seconds.
So, I was pretty happy, expecting him to join.
Then I went to Workday, to write my response, and also saw that there's another document I have to get familiar with. And (to me) it looks like a hint that I'm on a PIP. WTF. No, I'll survive. I won't be looking for the next job, even now that I'm losing money every day (made one pretty stupid mistake, but I'm hopeful).
So, in an hour, I had a 1-1 with Jacob. By that time I decided that I won't talk to him about PIP. If it's official, he will tell me. If not, who fucking cares. He was nervous about this "upgrade" that I've been working on for god knows how long. Yes, I'm working on it. Discovering all kinds of crazy, disorganized things. He also wants me to document the architecture. Yes, I have to. Let me start doing it tomorrow.
Well, whatever.
Then I closed the case with that "long id" (having fixed the database table), merged my PR with a bunch of tests for that, and closed my work computer.
That's it for today, folks.

amp_team, but amp-team. I would have discovered it later if I did not successfully log in to a bunch of other databases, where it is with the underscore.Anyway, I'm thankful to Karen and Swathi for their patience. (Do you notice, I really prefer working with females? They are humans.)
