Half of the time spent on meetings. SNYK guy was talking about all kinds of threats from libraries pulled from external sources... Like, imagine, you refer, from your web page, a javascript deployed elsewhere. I would not. And the story how TransUnion was hacked. And how an .md file can be used to hack. And the like.
Then Priyanka was giving another presentation of her amazing collection of tests (these things make our product really reliable); the management showed total ignorance, asking us about whether we have unittests, and are we ready to write integration tests. Well, whatever.
Meanwhile I was struggling with the server I'm trying to "upgrade" - trying to figure out how come the service (represented as an app) does not start; when it starts, how come it creates dozens of postgres connections (should create none), etc.
Am I wasting time? I don't know; at times I feel like I should just retire. OTOH, this project I'm working on, is the most complicated. Comparing to what Davis, supposedly, upgraded, I see that Davis does not test any HTTP communication. Zilch. Nada. Etc.
Well, whatever. No, I'm not exhaused. I'm just humbled.
