Ok, we are a little bit slow, right?
In the morning I checked out my work slack. There was some panic. The service I'm in the process of fixing (the memory thing) sas being manually fixed by SRE twice a day, an now it seems to be crashing every two hours. So, could I just deploy it to prod, or at least to staging? Well, no, it's not safe!
So my PR at least was approved. Guess by whom. By the guy who was blocking this shit. Ok.
What's strange, he was also adding comments like "will it work?" And my answer was "I hope so".
Strangely, it merged ok (unlike Friday), and well whatever.
But I wanted to see the logs, which I saw Friday, but not today.
By the end of the day I managed to get Karen's attention.
And, well, WTF. I was too tired. Stuff works. And nobody fucking cares.
Will start deploying to production. Tomorrow. To a canary. While it's still crushing on production For the last at least month. And for the last five years in general. And they are afraid I'd break anything.
Does it make sense? Not to me.
