Almost a strike today. Signify, through which my salary is funnelled, has problems with timesheets; I tried to call all the phone numbers on their website - no way; pinged Sean in all possible ways - no answer, so I eventually contacted their big boss - and then, eventually, Sean started moving; called me, etc.
So, since my hours were not recorded, it's a good time for a strike, right?
But by the end of the day I got back to my scripts, etc.
Another funny thing: I posted in #sig-scala a Scala joke: "the dumbest way to get the first line in a string is val line = s takeWhile("\n" !=)

Some people laughed, some said that I should write val line = s.lineIterator.next. But Zan thought I'm laughing at some noobs, and it's improper and impolite.

So I had to write a long text regarding that the sarcasm is in my address, and this was actually my line of code, etc. And eventually everyone was just happy.

Hey, and I'm also on something like pager duty. Except that there's no pager, and there are no playbooks, and I've no clue where to report for the duty, and how I'm going to receive notifications. But checking my emails regularly, for sure. Nothing there. OTOH, maybe our system is just robust and reliable.
