So, in the morning I saw what Miles wrote to me - basically, we agreed that this paper by John is an important reading; then we discussed his library, and I we almost agreed that if people understood what it is about, the use cases could have been better, but they don't.
So, ok. And with that Mike, we kind of closed our discussion; and as I have unsubscribed from that #sig-scala, nobody cares anymore (probably).
I was thinking about calling my recruiter Sean, but it's too early. By the end of the day Sean called; we discussed all this, and that's it. Why did he call? Because he's just keeping in touch. He's my agent, European style.
During the day, I was looking for a place to post documentation, and found some Sam that was updating docs, and she suggested to me the right folder to store stuff. It's not wiki, it's just a git repo... they call it wiki, because they don't know how wiki works. But anyway, I'll try again.
More, I can as well just keep my own branch, or just fork it, and that's it.
What else? They threw me an old ops case to investigate. The case is too old, 3 weeks; logs are gone; so I wrote them that. They said that they will try it again. Perfect. You try, I investigate.
Oh, and access issues. How do I get to datadog? I have a link, but datadog wants me to log in. And it does not let me in. But I can click "forgot password", I click it, change password (first making sure that the one I used is known - it is). Then, with the new password, I try to log in. No way. Etc. Eventually bugged the support, they said I have to go to an okta page to log in. Perfect. Documented it.
Etc.
Well, but I have some jira case for development. I have no clue what Brad wrote there. A bunch of terms that I don't know. Asked him about slack huddle. He suggested to talk with Esteban. Perfect. We'll chat tomorrow, at 10:30.
Then we had a "standup". Jeremey said that within a week or two our team would move to work with Mike. So... so I don't know why me and Esteban should do anything with this shit that we are doing. Ok, Esteban is showing his best professional qualities, dreaming of eventually moving to the US. I'm dreaming of eventually moving to France (not actually), and in general, no reason to be too nice.
That's it for today. Probably boring, right?
