In principle, I was supposed to update the Jira case, listing my questions (RFC).
But I was too lazy in the morning, so I was just sitting, organizing my stale PRs in those couple of dozens of projects (sent a reminder);
then I looked for review requests. Reviewed Brad's stuff (e.g. asked, if he needs a current timestamp into a document, why (t.f.) does he use "a monadic timestamp", Clock[F] - why?) But anyway, approved his code, why not.

Then Esteban showed up, telling me that yesterday he talked with Zac, and now he knows answers to all questions, and we can chat, and he tells me everything. I asked him if he can write everything that he knows, and he did not want to.

Now I did not ask him, how come a Columbian, a compatriot of Marquez, cannot document what he heard. But I laughed anyway at the idea.

So he set up a huddle on slack, and, after I made more than one hint, included Zac, so there were three of us. But Esteban was talking and talking and talking. Former PM, what do you expect. He gave his speech that I already heard twice before. I managed to ask him whether he wrote down anything they talked about with Zac yesterday, and he admitted it. I also asked Zac about his team, his role, and what exactly do they expect from us. Zac was even more evasive than Esteban.

I spent some time and efforts to get from Esteban, where exactly does he keep the information. And he confessed.

In his local file!

I asked him whether he could copy-paste it into the shared google doc. He was insisting on "eventually" adding it to the project, on github. Then he said that he can't paste it into google doc, because it contains secret keys. (But github is ok? Well... it sounds too familiar.)

Eventually he agreed to paste it to Slack chat. And I copied it, saved it in my local file, removed all secrets, and pasted it into google doc.

Esteban will be away for a week. Sounds familiar.

So, eventually I wrote all my questions in that Jira case, which was posted by Brad, but the text (or rather sequence of characters) was written by Esteban. That case description ends with a suggestion that I write tests for the project he's working on (not the one I was supposed to update). What is it in people's heads, I wonder. Everybody thinks that he's surrounded by idiots? Well, I am. Now imagine how hard it is for females to work in such an atmosphere, where everyone tries to delegate, and nobody listens.

Well, whatever.

Then there was a meeting (the guys discussed an update of one CATs library, whereby some JWT data is not available directly anymore, but promised in a monad, so they have to update the code here and there, and at times it's tricky... because, well, because it is. But I rather agree in this case: the value is not immediately available, actually.

Then there was supposed to be a standup, but since our "sprint" is coming to an end, there's no need for a standup.

And I shut the work computer.

I don't know what's going on with all this, but see, I'm happy to be a contractor. I don't have to fucking care. I care about my money, twice a month. And I care about providing as much expertise as is requested.

So, have a nice day. I know I don't have anything requested to do, and tomorrow I'll be just kind of volunteering. Hopefully.
