 I would not say I had much (or anything) to do today.

So I looked through important slack channels, found a bunch of bot-generated PRs, and looked them all up. Some needed a merge from master, after which they had 0 lines of changes, and I just deleted these; others were failing here and there, and I fixed them a little bit.

Meanwhile, I fixed one old PR (from the beginning of July), so that the style checker accepted it, and since it was approved, merged it. Then I found that IntelliJ had a couple of complaints in the code I changed, so I fixed that, and refactor it a little bit, to get rid of repetitions (and typos in messages). Sent it for review.

Also, found that one guy from the docs team approved the doc I sent for review in April, so ok, I merged that too.

I need to restore the knowledge regarding how I can run Docker in sbt. I did it before, but I forgot. And it was documented in that file that I just merged. Good.

Then there was some kind of planning meeting. It was pretty boring, and Jira cases were either trivial or enigmatic. In one of them Brad suggested that `consumers` service, which usually talks to 'magic_link' service gets one more endpoint, with some meaningful functionality, that `magic_link` would be calling. I had a chance to explain, and explain, and explain that circular dependencies make the code unmanageable, spooky and untestable (there's a theorem for that). Brad seemed to agree.

Oh, I reviewed a couple of his PRs too today. His code looks really really nice, but his method-naming just sucks totally. 

See, guys. If you want to be good programmers, READ GOOD BOOKS! Not the comic books, not the cheap shit written by idiots. At least take Stephen King, he's a good writer and a very good guys. But rather, read Jane Austen. And Hemingway. And (maybe) Shakespeare.

That's it for today. Yes, we had a standup, but, well... nothing interesting there.

Когда-то я долго корил себя, что не врезал своему тестю, когда он (на дне рождения зятя, что ли), заявил при всех, мол, "наказали - значит, было за что". Это о Гулаге. Тогда я впервые в жизни почувствовал, где у меня сердце.

С годами как-то, слава соцсетям, моё общение постепенно перекатилось из реала в интернеты. И вступать в дискуссии было интересно только разве что со Скоттом, на барбекью у Фреда. Скотт меня всерьёз не принимал, а я его.

Вот предположим, сейчас бы я в такой ситуации оказался, как тогда. Я бы просто встал и ушёл домой. А т.к. в те поры тесть с тёщей жили у нас (это отдельная история - они-то думали, что это мы у них жили), я бы их выжал из моей квартиры. Без каких-либо дискуссий. Не прописаны, например.

Так вот. Дискуссии закончены. Дискутируют люди только по желанию. Регулярно отписываюсь от людей на фесбуке, чьи интересные стороны открываются вдруг. Это, в-основном, русские, конечно. (Тесть, кстати, вовсе не русский был, этнически. Но душою...) Здесь-то, в дриме, уже совсем маленький круг и тоненький слой (лодки тоненькое дно).

Что, в общем, меня устраивает - но ведь есть же экстраверты (или я тоже экстраверт? На сцене митапов да конференций, бывалоча, руками размахивал и шутки шутил; хз. Проехали. Тишина.
