Not that I'm happy every day. First, today got a bunch of rather stupid remarks on my old PR, now from Bill. That's up to "why do you have this comment here?" - the comment is for me, a TODO that this is the spot where I'll need to inject the new functionality. Etc. Bill's idea that we should not have any abstractions... oh, whatever. I know this kind of people. Copy/paste is their main development tool. DRY, they either never heard or never believed.
But I have other cases to work on. One is the one that was "on a parking lot" at yesterday's standup, and now it's as urgent, as the other two.
The other two is the one which they've been reviewing for a week now, and the one left for me by Esteban. This one is pretty neat, except that it depends on a newer version of Devon's library, with which the project just does not compile. Otherwise, I implemented the functionality, but what's the point of it does not compile the tricky HTTP4S macros. Will have to either tell Devon, or investigate. I guess delegating, aka telling Devon, makes more sense. I'm not paid for wasting too much time... on the other hand, I love HTTP4S, and it makes sense to investigate, wtf, right?
That's it for today.
Oh, we have to finish... finish something, a project that probably nobody has been aware of, and finish it by the end of the year. Mike smiles slyly about all this. I just nod. Others have those avatars - cats, dogs, fish, and also nod and smile.
Is not it all a game? In which we are paid for the participation. A show. Investors pay. Customers pay. We play.
Anyway, I'm busy, I have to read stuff, learn le français et... i polsku, etc. And I have to remember, I don't work at that company, I just sell them my time, and have fun doing it.
