As I understand, Bush administration holds to the idea that if you remove all the ayatollas to Guantanamo, the remaining crowd will immediately recognize Jesus - just because Jesus proves to be stronger. While this idea is no good in predicting the future, it is perfect in figuring out the kind of mentality the administration has: show me the power and I'll believe whatever you say. Meaning, all their Christianity is very superficial.

Say, you just saw something absolutely amazing - a UFO, a cat walking on its two hind legs across the street, a naked young woman driving a red convertible, an eagle perched on your yard fence, Virgin Mary shows up at your door, whatever. You hurry to tell someone about it, to share. What if you did not; what if it happened god knows where, with nobody around?
You carry your memory with you; then, maybe 10 year later, you write about it; or remember it 20 years later, to tell to your kids or grandchildren. And not only people won't believe you; you will doubt it yourself. Why? Because memory is a tricky thing; you think you saw it, but then it turns out you actually saw it in a movie, or in a dream. How many people knew personally someone that used to say "which watch?", because of their bad English?
Now, think about it when you see something amazing. The event is a part of your memory the moment it ends; and you already know that, 10 or 20 years from now, this event would be discarded as if it never existed.
