2.5 meetings again. The last one was not attended by anyone except me and Janet.

What else? Eventually I've fixed my strangely failing test. The thing was, the official url that I used for testing is not available on staging. So now I know, it's only for prod. Ok. Took me some time to get to it, and then even more time to make sure scalacheck does not complain about the code.

At another meeting we discussed an interesting graph, where "cache hit" is about 3%. Why? Because the timeout for that cache is 1 minute, and there's about 3k requests an hour. And do we really need a cache for that? And do we need to have a 1 minute account? The information requested (and cached) is something about users status, like address, etc. I suggested to ask the people who insisted on a) caching, and b) having a 1 minute expiration timeout. Devon suggested to think about kicking out the cache. Bill suggested to wait and see. What's funny, about two weeks ago the hit rate was about 20%. But not anymore.

Kind of agreed (on my initiative) with Bill that his updates have to be deployed to prod before I merge my stuff. But then Devon jumped in with his huge and weird updates. His style is incomprehensible. What do you think about "DebugAlgebra" class? It's just an object that logs debug messages. I'm already exhausted trying to explain what the word "algebra" means. And, fuck, why should I care, it's not my business anyway. So I approve anything he sends, that's it. BTW, it all works ok. But the style... not to my taste. But again, it's not my company, I'm just a contractor thered.

Their HR sent another "training" where we were trained not to bribe and not to give bribes, and if we see something, report it to the HR without any fear of revenge or something. Yeah, right. No fear. I swear I won't bribe anybody, and won't take anybody's bribe... wait, I'm not their employee!

That's it. Boring...

P.S. That was the last day of my job at Jack Henry, and, I guess, my last job ever. Had a warm goodbye from Mike and from others, that's it.

My job is over! (I'm virtually celebrating the end of my "career".)
