You've probably heard about this activist of American Indian Movement that was thrown to prison in 1977 on rather dubious evidences from FBI that he killed 2 FBI agents. Opinions vary.
What you probably have not heard is that Clinton was going to pardon him in the end of 2000. FBI did hear of these plans. They organized a demonstration outside the White House, to protest this. Now imagine, 500 FBI agents demonstrating against their (nominal) boss. Also, they collected over 2000 signatures, inside FBI, against letting Leonard Peltier go. And Clinton caved in. He pardoned Patty Hearst, though.
Interesting, right? Where were all the media then? Making fuss about Florida chads? Interesting...
