deforestation and global warming

As we know now, trees are not very good in getting CO2 out of the atmosphere. Grass is. Which means that logging in Amazon area leads to replacement of trees with grass, which leads to faster consumption of CO2 from the atmosphere.
What do you think. To stop global wamring, have to cut more tropical forests. To stop April snow in Texas, Florida and DC, have to preserve Amazon forests.
